Frequently asked questions
When should I start taking prenatal vitamins?
Ideally 3 months before you start trying to conceive. This timeframe aligns with the approximate development period of eggs and sperm, making preconception nutrition, lifestyle and overall wellbeing important considerations.
What is Quatrefolic® and why is it better than folic acid?
Quatrefolic® is an active form of folate that the body can use directly, whereas standard folic acid must first be converted into an active form before it can be utilised. Folate is an important nutrient (up to 7x more absorbable) during preconception and early pregnancy because it supports normal cell division and tissue growth during pregnancy. Some people may have reduced ability to convert folic acid efficiently due to individual genetic differences, which is one reason active folate forms such as Quatrefolic® are increasingly used in premium fertility and prenatal supplements.
Can I take this alongside IVF treatment?
Yes — it's safe alongside fertility treatments. Many healthcare professional optimising nutrition for a minimum or 3 months before conception or IVF, aligning with egg maturation timelines. Always consult your Fertility specialist or healthcare provider before taking supplements alongside IVF medications or treatment.
Can I continue taking it once pregnant?
Our Female Fertility formula was designed primarily for preconception support. Once pregnancy is confirmed we recommend discussing ongoing use with your healthcare professional to determine whether continuing or transitioning to a pregnancy-specific supplement is most appropriate.
How long before trying to conceive should I start taking a Fertility Supplement?
Ideally, begin supporting your body around 3 months before trying to conceive. Egg maturation occurs over approximately 90 days, meaning nutrition and lifestyle factors during this period may influence reproductive health. Many women also continue support while preparing for IVF or after coming off contraception.
Can I take this if I have PCOS/PMOS?
Our Female Fertility formula was designed to support women wanting to optimise preconception nutrition. Ingredients commonly used in fertility support may also be popular among women with hormonal imbalances or irregular cycles. They also could pair this with our Hormone Support Supplement. If you have PCOS/PMOS or a diagnosed condition, speak with your healthcare professional before use.
Should I take this if my cycles are irregular?
Irregular cycles can have many causes. Starting with our product Cycle Balance to support regulating your cycle may be a better option before moving onto Female Fertility, but ongoing irregular cycles should be investigated with a healthcare professional.
Why is CoQ10 important for Fertility and used in our Preconception formula?
CoQ10 is an antioxidant naturally produced by the body and involved in cellular energy production. It is included in our Fertility and Preconception Supplements because egg cells and sperm cells require significant energy to function and develop. As we age, natural CoQ10 levels may decline. For this reason, CoQ10 is often explored by women and men wanting to optimise their preconception nutrition and support overall reproductive wellbeing before trying to conceive.
